Engineering Firm Selected
After a review process, the Trail Committee is excited to announce that it has selected Crystal Coast Engineering, PA to handle the engineering requirements associated with the project.
The firm located in Swansboro, North Carolina (Firm License No.: C-2553). At present, they employ two registered professional engineers, Dave Newsom, PE and John Freshwater, PE. They are fully experienced and equipped to meet the project’s design and permitting requirements including roadway and sidewalk design & permitting as well as grading, drainage and erosion control.
The Cape Carteret Trail will be a 3.1 mile closed loop trail around our wonderful town. The completed Trail will follow Highway 24, Highway 58 and Taylor Notion Road Corridors. The Trail will utilize existing trail segments (Highway 24 walkway connecting to White Oak Elementary School, and segment around Handi Mart Gas Station). The trail will be an asphalt surface ranging from 8-10 feet wide. The project will include exercise areas, parks, gardens, wooded areas, and benches along the way.
